Available Positions-

Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner

The scope of practice for a Mid-Level Provider at Rockhill Orthopaedic Specialists, Inc, shall consist of the following services and procedures:

  • Rounding on patients and write daily progress notes on patients admitted to Rockhill Orthopaedic Specialists Physicians at the following facilities:
    A.  Saint Luke’s East Campus
    B. Lee’s Summit Medical Center
  • Performing consults and admit patients, when necessary at the following facilities:
    A. Saint Luke’s East Campus
    B. Lee’s Summit Medical Center
  • Manage and direct patient care for pre-operative, peri-operative and post-operative patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings; round on patients.
  • Initiating and completing discharge paperwork for Rockhill Orthopaedic Specialists patients.
  • Perform history and physicals, order and interpret diagnostic and radiological tests and procedures. Go over diagnostic test results with patients.
  • Coordinate consultations and referrals for patient care
  • Post Op or Injection Clinic-as determined by your supervising physician.
  • Prescribe medications in accordance with physician approved medication protocols
  • Assist with patient call and patient education
  • Assist with billable surgical procedures and submit list of cases to billing department.
  • Working Hours-as defined in contract (40- 50 hours/week)
  • Call Schedule-be available when supervising physician is on call.

Medical Assistant/ Athletic Trainer

Position Description: The employee in this full-time position (40 hours per week) is responsible for a variety of clinical duties. Since direct patient contact is required, a person with clinical experience is required.


Education: Medical Assistant Certification with minimum 2 years’ experience. Certified Athletic Trainer
Knowledge: Computers

Job Duties- Medical Assistant:

  • Room & prepare patients to be seen by physician. Gather & input patient information into EMR.
  • Prepare patients for x-ray, injection procedures and other minor surgical procedures.
  • Cast/ splint application & removal. Assist in dressing changes and suture removal.
  • Prepare patient rooms, stock all gowns & supplies, clean tables & instruments according to OSHA standards.
  • Fit patients with OTS (off the shelf) DME. Authorize & pre-cert DME with various payers. Instruct patient with proper fitting of DME.
  • Any other job duties that might be requested by the doctors or management to help the office run efficiently.

Job Duties- Athletic Trainer:

Personal Characteristics: Must enjoy interacting with people, be able to relate well to a variety of personalities, and have good verbal communication skills. Must have a cheerful disposition with a calming affect when interacting on the telephone. Self-motivated, ability to work well with interruptions, understands the need to be precise with information-gathering task and is able to convey instructions effectively. Enjoys working as part of a team.
