Megan Mayer, M.D. is a fellowship trained board eligible orthopaedic surgeon specializing in hip, knee and shoulder arthroscopic procedures as well as sports medicine, employing the most current treatment techniques to alleviate pain and restore function and an active lifestyle for her patients.

Dr. Mayer is a fellowship trained, board eligible orthopaedic surgeon who received her medical doctorate, graduating with honors from the University of Missouri Kansas City School of Medicine, Kansas City, MO.  She completed residency in 2017 in orthopaedic surgery at the Campbell Clinic through the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, TN.  She has also completed a Sports Medicine Fellowship at Methodist Sports Medicine affiliated with Indiana University in Indianapolis, IN.  In addition, she has acquired specialized training in hip arthroscopy at Cleveland Clinic.

Dr. Mayer is excited to be returning to her hometown roots being that she is a graduate of Lee’s Summit High School.  As a student athlete, she is familiar with sports injuries in that she had one while in college and she was treated by Dr. Gerald Dugan in 2004.  After a period of rehabilitation, she was able to return to participating in sports.  She understands the student athlete and says “I naturally just enjoy working with the athletic population in general. ”  Ina a sense, Dr. Mayer has come full circle in her career and is excited about the opportunity to help patients continue to enjoy an active and fulfilling lifestyle.
