Sherry Murillo, APRN
Sherry received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Indiana University in 1993. After many years of clinical experience as a registered nurse, Sherry elected to return to school and become a nurse practitioner. She obtained her Master of Science from the University of Kansas in 2010 and has practiced since then in surgical specialties. She completed her Registered Nurse First Assistant Certification from Northern Kentucky University and enjoys her role as a surgical first assistant.
As an APRN, Sherry enjoys serving our patients and representing our providers in the practice. It is her utmost goal to continue to provide the quality of care that our patients have grown to expect and trust from the providers at Rockhill Orthopaedics. She brings with her years of surgical experience and looks forward to assisting you in your orthopaedic journey.
She was inspired to become a nurse by the illness of a close family member. Through that experience she realized the importance of compassion in nursing. She decided to further her education, becoming a nurse practitioner, to fulfill the desire to see a patient through an entire health care event, from onset of symptoms through recovery. She loves that patients know her and count on her to be present in every phase of care.
Sherry is an active member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, Kansas State Nursing Association, Sigma Theta Tau Nursing Honor Society, Golden Key Honor Society, Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society, and is licensed in both Kansas and Missouri as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse.
When away from work, she enjoys being an amateur artist, painting with oils and acrylics, volunteering around the community, traveling, spending time with friends and family, reading, exercising and cooking.
